Our state of the art Gantt chart

Post by brian.cronin »

I have encountered an issue when attempting to open the Gantt chart from the Salesforce app on my iPad. I consistently receive an error popup with this specific error message. This error only occurs when I try to open the Gantt chart from the Salesforce app, while it works perfectly fine when accessed through a browser.

Specifically, when I try to interact (such as zooming in or zooming out) with the chart, I receive these popup messages. They persist, and it wont disappear making the gantt unusable.

Are there any special steps to reproduce? I've tried Gantt in Salesforce app on iPad and couldn't trigger the issue:

I encountered errors while attempting to pinch in or out on the Gantt chart, making the application unusable. Upon replicating the issue on Bryntum's sample application, I observed that it is handled or disabled zoom in or out on gantt chart, so I cant zoom In or zoom Out without clicking on the button. Here is the link to a video demonstration of the custom implementation:

Hello.
Can you reproduce this problem on our latest demo? URL and credentials are provided in our documentation: https://bryntum.com/products/gantt/docs/guide/Gantt/quick-start/salesforce#online-example

Hi Maxim,

No, I couldn't reproduce this issue in Bryntum salesforce, however, I copied code from this repo and I haven't extend/updated this code https://github.com/bryntum/bryntum-salesforce-showcase/tree/main/force-app/main/default/lwc/gantt_component

and created another dummy LWC component and added it to the record page, but still getting this error on my iPad

I am using the library version - 5.6.2

Hi,

Could you please try to upgrade version you used to latest released? We are not able to reproduce this problem on our side suing real iPad or emulated device.

Please try to upgrade and if issue is not fixed, share more context: browser, version, OS version, device version, video with steps to reproduce.

All the best,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I tried updating the library version to the latest version 5.6.9, however after updating to the latest version I am seeing some strange CSS behavior in the Gantt chart as you can see in the below video

https://jmp.sh/s/NNskiZLd1T47lU6O93Bd

this was working before I changed the library JS file and CSS file but after changing the files I am getting this issue, however after that, I went to the bryntum salesforce to check whether I can reproduce the issue or not, I can say not the exact but similar issue I found there see link below

https://jmp.sh/s/K0zWEHmUMqJEmfoa5rJg

I also tried it in the advanced demo but it is working as expected.

but when I revert back to the old version Gantt works the same as before only with an iPad issue in Salesforce app which is I am gathering more info from my side

Hi,

Just tested on iOS 17.4.1 using our online demo, I see no problems at all.
What browser, version, OS version? Try in incognito mode?

All the best,
Alex
