In Gantt example we have general calendar and inside that we have children , how parent is impacting children ? What is concept behind this parent and children in calendars

Children inherits parent's configs. Similar to classes in object-oriented programming. So you can have base calendar which has common rules, and specific calendars which add extra rules to the common calendar.
