We strive to keep posts updated, but code samples may sometimes be outdated. Humans, see the Bryntum documentation; agents, https://mcp.bryntum.com for the latest info.

Since 2009, Bryntum has been committed to providing you with world-class scheduling and project-management web components that seamlessly integrate into any web app.

Our legacy Ext JS apps have served many of you well over the years, but as you know, frontend technology rapidly evolves.

To continue offering cutting-edge solutions, we’re phasing out all legacy Bryntum Ext JS products. They will reach end of life in December 2026 in favor of the new, versatile Bryntum Calendar, Scheduler, Scheduler Pro, Gantt and Task Board components, and the supercharged Bryntum Complete bundle.

End-of-life details

The sunsetting of the legacy suite will be done in two phases. Until December 2025, we will continue to release quarterly upgrades to stay up to date with Ext JS releases. After December 2025, we will only fix critical bugs, and all Bryntum products targeting Ext JS will reach end of life on December 31st 2026. After this date, we will not release any updates, bug fixes, or technical support. If you are unable to migrate, or if you prefer to continue using the unsupported version after the EOL date, please contact us to discuss a potential licensing arrangement.

If you’re still using our legacy Bryntum Ext JS products, we encourage you to migrate to the newer, more powerful Bryntum components as soon as possible to continue to benefit from our performant, intuitive, and developer-friendly products.

Advantages of the latest Bryntum suite over the Ext JS versions

The new suite of power components has many benefits over our legacy Ext JS-based components:

  • Performance: Contemporary Bryntum products are built using ES6+ instead of JavaScript
  • No dependencies: We no longer use Ext JS or other external dependencies for our UI library which means greatly improved performance.
  • Integration with modern JS stacks: We now offer seamless integration with React, Angular, Vue, and Salesforce.
  • TypeScript integration: TypeScript bindings are integrated into the newer range of Bryntum products – a feature absent from our Ext JS products.
  • Reactive API: Up-to-date Bryntum products feature a reactive API, making them more responsive and easier to develop with.
  • Customization: With CSS layouts, you have more customization options and control over the look of your application.
  • Demos: Compared to our Ext JS products, our newer Bryntum products have more live demos of features and integrations to help you implement and customize our components effectively.
